Artist Statement
Claire Bear explores the transformation of fundamental shapes into dynamic compositions of optical, geometric forms, brought to life through luminous colour. Working across both two- and three-dimensional surfaces, her practice evokes a sense of play, memory, and visual curiosity.
Rooted in phenomenology, Claire’s work delves into the visual elements of personal memory and lived experience. Through bold geometry and vibrant palettes, she seeks to reconstruct emotional states, from nostalgia to imagination, using colour and form as conduits for sensation and storytelling. Her compositions invite viewers into a world where perception is fluid, familiar shapes shift meaning, and joy is found in the unexpected.
